Just a short one, as I want to get this off my chest.
The recent Balenciaga fuck-up really made me think about what is up with fashion sometimes. It is kind of known that Balenciaga loves attention, and the way they gain that attention is at times questionable. Still, in previous cases, there were nuances to be understood. Therefore, we live with it and, in a way, are amazed by their boundary-pushing efforts. This time it is different, and it just consolidated my opinion about fashion: people are unnecessarily sexual.
By people, I mean those who equate sex with fashion. Undoubtedly, sex, or sexual connotations, are an inimitable part of fashion, an undeniable node within the

‘pathology’: you always have to expect sex to be at play in any collection or fashion creative efforts. Sex evokes the most colorful fantasies in people, and when combined with fashion, it’s further amplified in a sort of controlled and artistic manner. But as McQueen said, “Fashion is a small world, [there is] a sinister side to it, a lot of voyeurism. Sometimes fashion can get so suffocating. It’s a bit like a mental asylum sometimes.”
People get off in the name of art, which is understandable. I just don’t think that involves the exploration of absolute immorality and also profiting from it.
Or at least this was the case until Balenciaga was caught out.
